Crystal clear waters, cobbled alleyways and vehicle-free surroundings are just a few of the things that Hydra Island promises. It’s an ideal destination for stressed-out travelers seeking an escape from their busy lives.
Freshly opened in 2020, “Nesea” provides a home away from home. The name “Nesea” comes from ancient Greek mythology and is one of the Nereid nymphs, protector of the Aegean Islands. The Nereides were protectors of sailors and fishermen, coming to the aid of those in distress. At Nesea, we focus on creating a home-like feeling for our guests while paying special attention to details like our beds, pillows and linens for the best possible quality of sleep.
Eco-friendly and natural materials such as oak, linen and cotton are used, along with some selective handcrafted items by Greek designers. Among the sleek, modern architecture you will also find some elements of traditional island architecture, like our ceilings with beams and reeds. Natural sunlight flows though the space while lighting is set up attentively to brighten each room creating an atmosphere that encourages you to spread out and find a quiet corner to relax.
Hydra offers a variety of options for all types of visitors. From cafés and restaurants by the sea to hidden shops in alleyways, beach bars on the rocks and laid-back cocktail bars. Its breezy yet cosmopolitan island style make it appealing to both Greek and foreign travelers.
